Financial Planning Review Consultant

We’re excited to share that we’re on the lookout for a new member to join our team as an experienced Financial Planning Review Consultant.  Our Financial Planning division spans across all areas of planning advice, guaranteeing that each day brings new challenges and experiences. 

As a Financial Planning Review Consultant, you will provide financial advice to existing clients, following HLFP’s ethical and legal guidelines. This involves managing a current client base and ensuring their financial plans remain suitable.

Your base will be in our vibrant Dundee office, offering you the chance to experience our unique working environments.


The role is varied, and responsibilities include:

  • Provide financial planning advice to a wide range of private and corporate clients.
  • Assist in the development and achievement of annual business targets and financial budgets.
  • Plan, control and review client work to ensure that annual reviews are completed as efficiently and effectively as possible.
  • Complete all administration in a timely and accurate manner in line with the guidelines as issued and amended from time to time by HLFP and its regulator.
  • Liaison with other departments to ensure successful completion of annual reviews within agreed timescales, for example, external paraplanners, administration teams, tax team.
  • Monitor work in progress on reviews, communicating any potential problems and fee opportunities with the Directors on a timely basis.
  • Maintain performance standards in line with those detailed by HLFP in the Key Performance Measures document.
  • Create and maintain appropriate business relationships within HLFP and the wider Henderson Loggie organisation.

  • Minimum of Diploma/Level 4 Financial Planning with previous experience in financial services desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA Regulations and technical expertise in regulated Financial Planning.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly transfer technical knowledge to others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present recommendations clearly and logically.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to quality, with strong research and report writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client servicing skills; adept at building effective relationships with clients and staff at all levels.
  • A motivated team player who collaborates effectively, demonstrating enthusiasm, flexibility, and a proactive approach to CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
