Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an inspiring and commercially orientated L&D Lead to work with the HR Director to shape and implement an L&D strategy that drives high performance, develops future potential, and retains talent within the Firm. This is a new role and demonstrates the Firm’s commitment to employee development.

The successful postholder will:

  • Design, implement, and deliver content for practical, advisory, management and leadership skills learning solutions.
  • Drive the development of the HL Academy, regularly reviewing content, training methods and material to ensure they meet the needs of the business and are effective.
  • Build strong links with external training providers, professional bodies, and local schools, colleges, and universities.
  • Support the HR Director with annual training needs analysis, setting priorities and identifying solutions for the year ahead.
  • Manage and further develop the trainee programmes in conjunction with line managers, as well as taking responsibility for overseeing the annual administration cycle and liaising with external stakeholders.
  • Map out training plans for new starters and required training as part of the onboarding process.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable experience in an L&D role (inhouse or consultant), ideally within a professional services environment,
  • Experience of creating, managing, and delivering innovative learning and development initiatives, including blended learning and workshop-based training.   These will predominantly focus on practical, advisory, management, and leadership skills.
  • A strong commercial focus and business acumen
  • Excellent relationship building skills, able to build credibility with key contacts and stakeholders often at senior level and add value
  • Confident and articulate with excellent communication skills
  • Strong IT skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.  Knowledge of digital platforms and apps, etc.
  • Good project management skills coupled with organisation and prioritisation – able to manage multiple priorities and multitask effectively
  • There will be a need to travel to all of our offices, particularly our Head Office in Dundee.  A willingness to travel is therefore essential.
