R3 Scotland Sector Survey

Graeme Smith, Insolvency Practitioner, is a member of R3, the Association of Business Recovery Professionals who have issued the results of a survey on the major business sectors’ risks of entering insolvency, in Scotland.

“R3 tracks the level of ‘insolvency risk’ in major UK sectors.  Businesses are assigned a score which indicates a lower or higher than normal risk of entering an insolvency procedure in the next 12 months.  May indicators showed:

The pubs sector recorded the lowest such risk out of all the industry sectors in Scotland, with 17.2% of companies with a higher than normal risk of insolvency.  This is followed by: agriculture (17.9%), hotels (20.2%), restaurants (20.9%), transport and haulage (21.6%), manufacturing (21.7%), retail (22.5%), construction (24.6%), professional services (29.3%) and technology and IT (33.5%).”
