Ian has over 20 years’ experience as a Partner in Henderson Loggie dealing with a varied portfolio of clients, both large and small, helping them with all their financial requirements. He provides general business advice and accounts preparation, as well as both personal and corporate tax.
Ian acted as local secretary for ACCA and was also as part of the Scottish Executive Committee for ACCA where he acted as the National Technical Liaison Officer.
Ian is Head of the firm’s Motor Retail Sector Group.
Jamie is an experienced auditor with strong technical skills who provides audit and accounting services to our clients across a wide range of sectors. He trained with a Big 4 firm and after qualifying in 1987 he gained twenty years of experience before joining Henderson Loggie in 2007.
Jamie has wide commercial experience having worked with clients in many sectors and of all sizes from owner managed businesses to large groups. As well as core audit, Jamie has been involved in large projects for clients involving acquisitions and systems implementation. He brings all of that experience to bear on his client relationships where he seeks to add value in a proactive manner.
Jamie specialises in the audit of charities and works with many high profile Scottish charities. He is head of our charities sector group and sits on the ICAS Charities Committee.
Jim is Managing Director of MHA Henderson Loggie Financial Planning, responsible for the overall running of the financial services firm ensuring we offer our client’s pro–active advice in all areas of financial planning.
Jim acts as adviser to a portfolio of private clients and has a particular interest in assisting both companies and individuals with their pensions and personal investment planning both pre and post retirement. He also has a breadth of experience of the financial planning requirements across a broad range of corporate sectors advising on the constantly changing pension legislation and the impact this has on members of defined benefit pension schemes in particular.
Jim holds the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate and is the firms nominated compliance officer and pension transfer specialist.
Having worked within the financial services industry since 2006, Ricky has gained valuable career experience within different roles in financial services companies.
At MHA Henderson Loggie Financial Planning Ricky specialises in pensions within the corporate sector, providing advice and project planning services on the new government regulations set out on workplace pension schemes, also known as auto enrolment. He also looks after the needs of a portfolio of personal clients assisting them with pre and post retirement financial planning requirements.
Stuart has considerable experience in managing assurance audit work across the Firm’s portfolio of public sector clients including further and higher education, local government, housing association, research organisations and Non-Departmental Public Bodies (NDPBs). He has played a lead role in developing the Firm’s risk-based approach to internal audit to ensure full compliance with the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards.
In particular, Stuart has been involved in both internal and external audit assignments within the further education sector since the incorporation of colleges in 1993 and currently manages the Firm’s audit and other services to a significant number of colleges throughout Scotland.
Stuart has a detailed understanding of the corporate governance, performance management and financial issues relevant to the sectors in which he works. He uses his knowledge and experience to identify appropriate best practice benchmarks, an approach that is well received by clients who recognise the ‘added value’ that he provides.
Susan has worked in Financial Services for many years and is responsible for the day to day operational matters with MHA Henderson Loggie Financial Planning. Susan’s role requires her to have a thorough understanding of every type of advice the team provides, along with the systems and processes to deliver these services.
Susan specialises in pensions and has enjoyed the challenges and opportunities that the changes in legislation have provided over the years.
Susan has been instrumental in establishing the auto enrolment pension team within MHA Henderson Loggie, liaising with all departments and project planning for clients. She is a regular press contributor, commenting on pensions and wider financial services topics.
Suzanne is involved with a wide variety of client work such as accounts preparation, VAT returns and management accounts services for all business types such as sole traders, partnerships and limited companies including personal tax and corporate tax guidance. As well as being involved in commercial organisations, Suzanne has a large client base of charities and non-profit making organisations where she provides independent examinations. Suzanne also has a number of charity audit clients including non-incorporated charities and charitable companies.
She has experience of clients ranging from retailers, sole traders, off-shore workers, friendly societies, property managers, chartered surveyors, cancer supporting charities and many more.
Suzanne is extremely supportive to client needs and is ready to listen, discuss, advise and support clients to meet their requirements at any time. Suzanne joined MHA Henderson Loggie in 1996, she trained and qualified with the firm.
David heads our Healthcare Sector Group advising dentists, care homes, vets, pharmacists and chiropodists.
He has a wide and varied range of experience providing general audit and accountancy services to a spectrum of businesses from sole traders to large group companies. His expertise also spans professional practices such as solicitors and FCA regulated businesses.
David is part of our successful charity team dealing with a wide range of charities including local authority charitable trusts and student associations and he is key member of our grants team, providing audits and accountants report for grants claims such European and Scottish Government grants.
Steven trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Henderson Loggie and currently manages external audit and advisory services to clients in the not for profit sector as well as commercial companies, primarily in the technology sector.
As a key member of the pensions audit team, Steven has a thorough understanding of the Pensions SORP and provides pension schemes throughout Scotland with financial statements and statutory audits.
Steven is a member of the firm’s Charity Sector Group and as a trustee treasurer of a local charity, in a personal capacity, is able to bring a client perspective to his work with charities.
Avril Craig is manager of the Payroll Department in Dundee, covering payroll and automatic enrolment processes for our payroll bureau clients, and payroll support for clients who handle their own payroll. She oversees the timely delivery of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll and automatic enrolment pension processing, RTI submissions and net salary payments for a large variety of clients ranging from two employees to several hundred.
Having spent the vast majority of her career working in accountancy practice, she has specialised in payroll for the last twelve years, and in more recent times, automatic enrolment pensions.
Avril has experience in a large variety of industries and particular enjoys supporting employers in complying with the requirements of HMRC and The Pension Regulator.
