Why we’re taking action
Sustainability is at the heart of our long-term strategy. By embedding environmentally conscious practices into everything we do, we’re not only helping to protect the planet but also enhancing the resilience and future-readiness of our business.
We have partnered with expert consultants Boxfish to support us in this journey, offering guidance and innovative solutions to measure and manage our carbon footprint.
Where we are now
Our emissions intensity is measured using an intensity metric, which will be measured annually to reflect our progress. We have set a baseline measurement of 9.49 tCO2e/£m of revenue based on 2022 data.
We’ve set our first significant target of becoming carbon neutral by 2030, a milestone that demonstrates our commitment to making meaningful and measurable changes.
Our long-term goal
We’re aiming to achieve a net-zero position by 2040, five years ahead of Scottish Government’s target and ten years ahead of the rest of the UK.
This accelerated timeline reflects our determination to lead by example in our sector and contribute to the wider sustainability goals of our country and planet.
Active projects
Our journey to net-zero includes several ongoing and planned projects. These initiatives span from improving energy efficiency across our offices, in particular by modernising our main office at the Vision building, to exploring the electrification of heating systems, reducing waste, and transitioning to more sustainable business practices.
Each of these projects is a stepping stone towards our ultimate goal of a greener, more sustainable Henderson Loggie.
