We have expanded our trainee intake at Henderson Loggie to 14 this year, welcoming 11 new starts this month alongside three recent recruits as part of our investment in developing future talent.
Our latest recruits include eight graduates, one modern apprentice, and four direct-entry trainees who will spend a year in the business before beginning professional studies. Together, they will be based across our Edinburgh and Dundee offices, working in departments including Internal Audit, Audit, Tax, Business Recovery & Insolvency, Corporate Finance and Forensic Accounting.
In addition, one of our current modern apprentices is progressing to a Graduate Apprenticeship in Business Management. This brings the total number of our people undertaking a professional or recognised qualification to 56.
Our new trainees are beginning a two-week induction programme, with those joining the audit team going on to complete an additional week dedicated to audit training. Depending on their role, they will work towards qualifications from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT), or the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors.
The trainee programme is delivered under our HL Academy, which this year has expanded with the launch of Thrive, a development initiative for qualified professionals to build advisory and leadership skills. In the past 12 months, five recently qualified colleagues have stepped into management positions.
Henderson Loggie people partner Fiona Doctor said:
“Developing the next generation of professionals is central to our strategy. We are proud to support our trainees as they begin their careers and equally proud of the progress our qualified staff are making through the Thrive programme. With more than 50 people now training towards recognised qualifications, we are investing heavily in the future of our business and the profession in Scotland.”
Our new recruits come from schools and colleges including Biggar High, Balerno High, Grove Academy, Monifieth High and Perth College, while university graduates include alumni of the University of Dundee, the University of Strathclyde and Robert Gordon University.
