Summer Intern, People Team

At Henderson Loggie, we’re proud of our heritage as an independent Scottish accountancy firm with over 100 years of experience. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re committed to creating a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment where individuals can thrive.

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Intern to join our People team in Dundee and support a range of exciting people-focused improvement projects across the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a university student to gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You’ll play a key role in reviewing and improving people policies, templates, forms and processes to help ensure they reflect our values, enhance employee experience and support smarter ways of working.

During your internship you will:

  • Play a key role in refreshing and modernising our people policies, templates and documentation to ensure they reflect our values, culture and brand.
  • Help redesign and simplify forms and documents to create a better employee and manager experience while removing unnecessary administration.
  • Get involved in mapping and improving people processes and workflows, helping us find smarter and more efficient ways of working.
  • Support the organisation and management of people documentation and records, helping to keep information accurate, accessible and up to date.
  • Gain exposure to people data and reporting, including opportunities to explore tools such as Power BI to help improve reporting and insights.
  • Bring fresh ideas and recommendations to help enhance employee experience and continuously improve how the People team operates.
  • Provide hands-on support across a variety of People projects and day-to-day team activities, gaining broad exposure to HR and business operations.

What we are looking for:

We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in people, processes and continuous improvement. You will also:

  • Be currently studying towards, or recently completed, a degree in HR, Business Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Be confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Have an interest in digital tools such as Canva, Power BI or reporting and analytics platforms.
  • Be comfortable reviewing information and identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
  • Show initiative, curiosity and a willingness to contribute ideas and recommendations.
  • Be able to handle sensitive information professionally and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Have strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
