Ewan’s Story

Curious about starting a career in audit? Ewan Shiels, Assistant Manager at Henderson Loggie, shares his journey from graduate to professional in our Audit team.

In this video, Ewan talks about his experience on the graduate programme route, the challenges and rewards of starting a career in audit and tips for aspiring graduates considering a similar path.

What You Need to Apply

  2:1 degree in any subject – it doesn’t need to be in accountancy!

  Excellent oral and written communication skills

  A well-developed sense of client service

  A proactive and analytical approach to problem solving

The position will initially be offered on a three-year fixed-term training contract where you will be given the opportunity to develop your business advisory skills through our HL Academy.

You will train to become a qualified professional, which will give you access to many career opportunities. You will cover a variety of tasks, enabling you to grow personally as well as professionally.

 

First things first, send us your CV! The first stage of the application should only take a few minutes to complete.

Following our first shortlist, we’ll then ask candidates to send us a short video answering some additional questions.

If you are successful, we will then invite you to take part in our assessment centre, which includes tests and an interview. 

After completing the assessment centre, the successful candidates will be contacted with their job offers with a start date of August 2026.
