I am one of Scotland’s leading grant audit specialists, with more than 30 years of experience in grant assurance, audit and financial reporting.
As Head of our dedicated Grant Audits department, I work with universities, colleges, public sector organisations, charities and commercial businesses across a wide range of sectors. This experience enables me to provide expert insight and practical advice throughout the grant audit process, helping clients meet funder requirements with confidence.
A key area of my work is advising finance teams on the evidence and documentation required to support grant claims. I regularly deliver training to finance staff, helping them understand grant compliance requirements and develop robust processes for successful claims. Reviewing systems and controls designed to identify and capture eligible grant expenditure is also an important part of my role, ensuring organisations are well positioned to meet funder expectations.
Taking a hands-on approach to every assignment, I oversee the delivery of high-quality grant audit and assurance services. This includes reporting to management and funding bodies, as well as signing the audit and assurance opinions provided to grant funders, ensuring clients receive a thorough, reliable and professional service.
Alongside my grants work, I manage a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, providing accounting and assurance services. I also have experience undertaking FCA audits and Solicitors Accounts Rules assignments.
Outside of work, I volunteer as a Trustee of Dundee Football Club Community Trust.
