My main interest is in working with charities, universities and not-for-profit organisations, principally through the delivery of audit and assurance services.
I joined Henderson Loggie in April 2022 with a focus on cementing our position as a leading trusted adviser to not-for-profit organisations in Scotland. In 2023 I became Chair of the ICAS Charities Panel, reflecting my passion and experience in the sector, and also became a member of ICAS’ Policy Leadership Board. Previously I was a member of the FE/HE SORP Board for the development and approval of the 2019 education statement of recommended practice.
At the start of my career, I trained and spent 17 years with two Big-4 accounting firms becoming a leading specialist in public sector audit where there is a specific focus on financial sustainability, corporate governance and performance management. I have brought this experience front of mind when working across the not-for-profit space, and I particularly enjoy my interactions with senior management and trustees and non-executives around enhancing financial reporting, assessing their organisation’s financial position and appropriately managing risk.
Outside of work, I am currently making a renewed attempt to climb more of Scotland’s beautiful hills.
