I am Chair of Henderson Loggie and head up the firm’s Business Recovery and Insolvency team. I have over twenty-five years of experience advising businesses, the majority of that time dealing with businesses facing some form of financial difficulty. Most businesses face financial challenges at some point, and we provide support to directors, business owners and individuals in understanding the options and getting them through those challenges.
I am also a licenced insolvency practitioner and act in formal insolvency appointments. Sometimes I’m appointed by businesses themselves and sometimes by creditors.
I’ve worked with a wide range of sectors, sizes of business and types of distress. In addition, I have spent some time working within a bank and understand the issues facing a business that has lost the confidence of a lender.
For people facing financial difficulty, be it a limited company or personally, the best thing to do is take early advice. The earlier the advice, the more options that are available. We go through the various options, the pros and cons of each one and then help implement a strategy. Most people wish they’d spoken to us sooner.
I am the Convenor of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland Insolvency Committee.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find me running or at karaoke.
