Our Corporate Finance team has advised esk, the immersive entertainment and technology company, on its successful £2.6 million funding round led by Maven Capital Partners. Funding was provided by the Maven VCTs and the British Business Bank’s Investment Fund for Scotland, which is also managed by Maven.
The deal is evidence that institutions are waking up to the value of IP‑led creative companies, a sector driving more than 5% of UK GDP but too often held back by limited access to capital. esk’s business model spans multiple territories, long‑term licensing arrangements and complex production logistics, where clearly articulating both the creative vision and the commercial fundamentals is critical.
esk licenses iconic intellectual property from brands including Netflix, Paramount and BAFTA, transforming it into large‑scale live entertainment formats. Alongside its creative output, esk has developed a proprietary media control system that delivers high‑quality audio‑visual playback for live events. This combination of premium content and technical capability, together with global touring partnerships, has positioned the business at the forefront of the fast‑growing “film in concert” and orchestral experience market.
Rod Mathers, head of corporate finance at Henderson Loggie, said: “esk is a standout example of the kind of IP‑rich, globally scalable creative business that investors increasingly want to back. The team has built a compelling international proposition, underpinned by strong partnerships, proprietary technology and a clear strategy for long‑term value creation. Our role was to help translate that ambition into the financial clarity and investment readiness required for institutional capital. We’re delighted to have supported the business through this milestone and to see further momentum behind growth‑stage investment in the UK’s creative economy.”
Sam Weatherstone, CEO of Esk, said: “We started Esk with a deep appreciation of live performance and immersive experiences, and a recognition that audiences have a huge appetite for in-person, communal ways to enjoy the stories, creators and worlds they love – and to discover new ones. This investment from Maven and the British Business Bank is a massive vote of confidence in the company and our approach. Henderson Loggie were brilliant throughout this transaction and helped communicate the value and scalability of the model with precise detail. We look forward to working with them again.”
