Henderson Loggie Corporate Finance are delighted to have supported Maven Capital Partners on their investment of £1.7m into NCIMB Limited, through the Investment Fund for Scotland. The Scottish National Investment Bank also co-invested alongside Maven. Our Corporate Finance Team provided financial due diligence services to the investors.
NCIMB is a biotechnology company based in Aberdeen, specialising in microbiology, analytical services, and biological material storage. Their services include identifying bacteria and fungi, conducting whole genome sequencing, and analysing microbial communities. They also offer secure storage for biological materials like bacteria, DNA and plant seeds, which is crucial for research and patent purposes. These services support sectors such as pharmaceuticals, food and drink, energy, and environmental industries.
The investment will be used to strengthen NCIMB’s business development and marketing functions to accelerate its core microbiology and strain licensing services. It will also allow NCIMB to expand its service offering to include the election and development of bacterial strains for specific customer applications.
